Hen Parties at The Wilderness
Since we threw our doors open to weekend hen parties, the popularity of The Wilderness for these events has grown and grown! The location is perfect, nice and close to main line stations and motorways so it's easy for all the girls to get together. The village itself is quiet and private, yet Bath is just 20 mins by rail. We also have a deal with a minbus company who will take you all into Bath, wait and return, all for around £17 per head

The cottage itself provides the cosy ambience perfect for old friends to get together and chat over a glass or two.
Extra Services and things to do...
We are adding to our repertoire of services available to our special hens all the time and to date these include beauty therapy, massage, outdoor activities, Limousine or Minibus service and so on.
A very popular day out has been the bicycle pub-crawl/dinner evening leaving from and ending at The Lock Inn at Bradford-on-Avon.

We can offer discount tickets for Longleat Safari Park.

All our hen parties have loved the Place, many of the brides' guests have come back for their own hen party!

History of The Wilderness;
Set in 2/3 acre of private gardens "The Wilderness" dates from 1640 and was originally a pair of farm cottages believed to belong to the estate of Heywood House nearby. The house features original oak beams and is bursting with character. The ceilings are low in many places and some of the bedrooms are quite small but this all just adds to the charm ! The original buildings were sympathetically extended in the nineties to provide a very large master bedroom with a super Kitchen/diner below. Seasoned oak beams were used to match the style of the existing property.
The self-contained annexe cottage was added in 2000. There is double link door between the two kitchens.
There is ample private parking at the front of the house.

Heywood is ideally situated for visiting The Roman City of Bath, the ancient Saxon Town of Bradford-on-Avon, and all the historic attractions of South West England! We are just 40 mins from Stonehenge and Salisbury and 30 mins from Bath by road. Westbury Railway Station is 1 mile away with regular direct trains to Bath (20 mins) & London (90 mins). The local Pub with it's fine real ales and superb food is just a short walk across the fields.
The Wilderness is entirely non-smoking

NOISE:
The house is in a residential area and we have a zero-tolerance policy on late-night noise. All outside music is prohibited in consideration of the neighbours. A visit by Environmental health officers, who operate 24/7 could spoil your weekend. Please bear this in mind before making your booking.

The Wilderness is about 2 hours from Heathrow Airport and 90 mins from London by rail.
No all male or stag parties (no exceptions) please try Stagweb!
